NTUNGWANAYO Masumbuko is an economist and lecturer-researcher specializing in financial economics, banking, and credit risk analysis. He holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics and Banking and a Master of Specialization in Finance, and has over nine years of international professional experience in higher education leadership and financial institutions. He previously served as Director General of the Institut Universitaire Libre d’Afrique (INILAQUE) in Burundi, where he led strategic planning, institutional governance reforms, quality assurance systems, and academic program development. His academic and professional interests focus on financial analysis, institutional governance, regulatory compliance, and higher education quality management. Trilingual and experienced in multicultural academic and professional environments, he is currently based in Belgium.

Hoperise Foundation est une fondation humanitaire à but non lucratif, créée en janvier 2025 et basée à Bujumbura, République du Burundi et en Belgique. Nous sommes guidés par les valeurs humaines de solidarité, de compassion et de justice sociale, tout en servant TOUTES les personnes vulnérables sans distinction de religion, d’origine ou de statut.
Notre mission est simple mais puissante : soutenir et améliorer la vie des personnes vulnérables et défavorisées, en leur offrant l’espoir, la dignité et les moyens de se reconstruire.

Ayant grandi dans la pauvreté au Burundi, j’ai moi-même connu la vulnérabilité et les défis quotidiens qu’elle impose. Grâce au soutien familial et aux bourses d’études du gouvernement turc et de la Belgique, j’ai pu poursuivre mes études supérieures et me reconstruire. J’ai obtenu un master en Financial Economics and Banking à l’université de Dokuz Eylül en Turquie, puis un master de spécialisation en MS-FINA à l’université libre de Bruxelles.
Cette expérience personnelle de la vulnérabilité et de la solidarité qui sauve des vies m’a profondément marqué. J’ai compris qu’aucun être humain ne devrait être laissé seul face aux difficultés. Aujourd’hui, à mon tour, je veux redonner ce que j’ai reçu et offrir aux autres les mêmes opportunités qui ont transformé ma vie.
Hoperise Foundation n’est pas simplement une organisation humanitaire – c’est une promesse faite à tous ceux qui souffrent : vous n’êtes pas seuls, l’espoir existe, et ensemble, nous pouvons changer nos vies.
 
NOTRE PARCOURS

Depuis notre création en janvier 2025, Hoperise Foundation a déjà touché la vie de plus de 50 personnes au Burundi, leur apportant soutien, espoir et dignité. Nous sommes encore une jeune fondation, mais notre détermination et notre foi dans la transformation sociale sont inébranlables.
POURQUOI « HopeRise » ?
Le nom Hoperise est la fusion de deux mots anglais :
Hope (Espoir) : La lumière qui guide dans l’obscurité
Rise (Se relever) : La force de se reconstruire et de s’élever
Hoperise = L’espoir qui élève
Notre slogan, « Rising Together, Changing Lives » (Ensemble, nous nous élevons et changeons des vies), reflète notre conviction profonde que la transformation sociale ne peut se réaliser que par la solidarité collective.

HopeRise Foundation is a humanitarian non-profit foundation, established in January 2025 and based in Bujumbura, Republic of Burundi and in Belgium. We are guided by human values of solidarity, compassion, and social justice, while serving ALL vulnerable people regardless of religion, origin, or status.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to support and improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people, offering them hope, dignity, and the means to rebuild.
OUR FOUNDER

Founder and Executive Director
Having grown up impoverished in Burundi, I have experienced vulnerability and the daily challenges it imposes. Thanks to my family and scholarships from the Turkish government and Belgium, I was able to pursue higher education and rebuild my life. I earned a master’s in Financial Economics and Banking from Dokuz Eylül University in Turkey, followed by a master’s Degree in MS-FINA from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
This personal experience of vulnerability and the life-saving solidarity I received profoundly shaped me. I understood that no human being should be left alone facing difficulties. Today, it is my turn to give back what I received and offer others the same opportunities that transformed my life.
Hoperise Foundation is not simply a humanitarian organization – it is a promise made to all who suffer: you are not alone, hope exists, and together, we can change our lives.

OUR JOURNEY
Since our creation in January 2025, Hoperise Foundation has already touched the lives of over 50 people in Burundi, bringing them support, hope, and dignity. We are still a young foundation, but our determination and faith in social transformation are unwavering.
WHY « HopeRise »?
The name HopeRise is the fusion of two English words:
